Idan Sharabi was Born in Israel, studied at the "Thelma Yellin" arts high school, Tel aviv and then at The Juilliard School, New York. At Juilliard, Sharabi was awarded the Zeraspe Award for 2006 Best Juiliard Choreographer, as he choreographed numerous pieces that were chosen for staging throughout the four years of his studies. He was chosen to collaborate with a composer for a performance at The Alice Tully Hall and a year earlier he was sponsored to perform his Uncomfortable Silences for the Tangente young choreographers evening in Montreal. Upon graduation, Sharabi joined The Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) 2, and three years later he joined NDT 1, Holland. In his last year there, he was chosen to be one of the 'NDT Upcoming Choreographers' for 2010, and his dance film and Installation, Beautiful Noise were produced by the company and presented in The Regentes Theater, Den Haag. His Adar (07'), No floor (08'), K'zat (09') and Danielle, coat (10') were shown in "Switch" on the Lucent Dans Theater stage, Den Haag, as well as sold and adapted for different spaces and groups in New York and Israel. 'Danielle, coat' (dance film), was taken soon after its premier to PACTT Dance Festival in Belgium as well as selected for a conference presentation, taking place in the Peace Palace in Den Haag. Independently, these years, Sharabi was choreographing for other shows taking place in New York, Israel, Nagoya (Japan) Verona (Italy) and Toronto (Canada).

After eight years abroad, Sharabi came back to Israel and created an evening named Home. The show received great reviews and articles in the press. Later that year Sharabi joined The Batsheva Dance Company. In December 2010' he was chosen for International Exposure Festival and premiered there 'Lo, So, Lo,' . In Aug. 2011, after leaving Batsheva, Sharabi was invited by The Opera House to choreograph for "TheProject" dancers. His new creation for the opera, Rak Tamid, was premiered next to a piece by W. Forsythe, in the evening 'Sharabi/Forsythe', which took place at The Israeli Opera house, October 2011. Rak Tamid was selected to participate in Inetrnational Exposure Festival 2011/12. On December 1st, 2011' Sharabi will be premiering Blue Solo, Joni. at The Joyce Soho Theater, New York and is going to create for the Ballet Junior De Geneve, in Switzerland, in January 2012.
